The Spring Career Fair is coming up this week, and we're going to help you get ready one step at a time. Stay tuned over the next week leading up to the event for a series of tips to help you get prepared and feel confident meeting employers at the fair.
Tip #1´©ÅÔâú: Complete Your Profile
One of the most important things you can do is complete your Handshake profile and update your resume. Employers will be interested in your current and past experience, and the skills you have to contribute to their organizations.
If your profile and documents are up-to-date, you’ll be able to share a link or send an attachment as you’re meeting with employers during the fair.
Here are the main things to focus on in your Handshake profile:
- Make sure the basics are correct: graduation year, major, and work authorization
- Select the job types, locations, and roles that interest you
- Add your courses, skills, and previous work experience
Got a great resume? Build your profile quickly!
Simply upload your resume and Handshake will fill in the appropriate sections. You'll be able to approve and edit each field to make sure your profile accurately reflects your resume.
Don’t forget to make your profile visible to employers so they can view all of your accomplishments and contact you.
