Details
The Indigenous Peoples' Day Gathering has many facets and a primary goal of community-building within Native American and Indigenous communities. There is also the chance for community members to learn more about Native American and Indigenous culture through engagement with sage bundling, music, song, and dance, as well as community and education around the tribal communities that occupied Mason campus and the surrounding areas.
Our university exists on Piscataway land and our students, faculty, and staff who identify as Native American and Indigenous are the most racially underrepresented at GMU. Honoring those who came before us and who have been displaced as well as having a sense of community among us all can have an incredibly powerful impact, so we look forward to those who are able to be in community with us on this special day!
All are welcome.
