About Us
The GMU Organic Gardening Association (GOGA) manages the Potomac Heights Vegetable Garden located behind the Potomac Heights dorms on Mason's Fairfax campus. We actively plan, care for, and harvest healthy vegetables and donate them to volunteers and those in need. We welcome anyone who may be interested in learning how to grow their own food, building community, increasing awareness around sustainable food or just wants to take a break from the hustle & bustle, and hang out with friends in the garden! We hold group meetings during the fall and spring semesters geared towards specific topics about sustainable gardening/farming (ie. seed sowing, composting, beekeeping, succession planting, etc.) We also have weekly garden hours in the Potomac Heights Vegetable Garden, as well as in the greenhouse, and other gardens around Mason's campus. If you are in the area during the summer and want to learn how to grow your own food or just want to get your hand in the soil - come check us out, we would love the company! Stay updated with garden hours, events, gardening tips, etc. on our Facebook page!
