March LGBTQ+ Resources Center Events

We have a couple events this week and then many events sponsored and put on by the hard-working students across several teams, programs, and initiatives that work as part of the LGBTQ+ Resources Center, as we move toward the end of March and into Pride Week 2025. This year's George Mason Pride Week has a footprint of two weeks, starting Saturday 22 March and ending Saturday 5 April!

But first, Spring Break. As we each continue with the work of school, self-care, and our other responsibilities, we are sending you peace and hoping you get some rest this spring break, even if it's just a rest from class sessions!

Wishing you the best,
The LGBTQ+ Resources Center

Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH): 2025-2026

Housing & Residence Life (HRL) has an option of Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) as you go through the housing application process.

At this point, if you are a returning (to housing) student, you either have selected that option or you have not. HRL doesn't usually allow students to change their selection of GIH or not outside of when you apply for housing each year.

Read more about HRL’s Gender Inclusive Housing option/policy on their website.

And, if you have any questions, are encountering any issues, or want to to talk through what your options are, email Lu GK at ckelemen@gmu.edu!

Gowns for Grads Lending Program - University Life

Graduation should be a time of excitement and possibility, not a time to feel burdened by another expense.

To offer some financial relief, Mason has created the Gowns for Grads Program to make regalia available for our students who are unable to purchase regalia on their own.  If you are a first-generation student, low-income, Pell Grant recipient, Stay Mason recipient, or cannot afford regalia right now due to financial difficulties, then this program is for you!

Graduation should be a time to reflect and celebrate this amazing accomplishment!

Second Deadline: Monday, March 24th at noon (12 pm)
Registration link !!

The LGBTQ+ Resources Center cultivates the success and well-being of queer, trans, non-binary, and questioning students, staff, and faculty. Our work is deeply collaborative and rooted in intersectional justice. We build identity-affirming programs, develop leaders, provide critical resources, and foster a culture of equity and allyship, at Mason.
