Mission The Science Policy Network (SPN) at Mason's mission is to: (1) Catalyze the engagement of students in policymaking by fostering an interdisciplinary science community, building skills needed for the next generation of science leaders, empowering student advocates for the role of science in society, and enabling students to conduct science diplomacy to extend the network internationally. (2) Connect early career science policy students to share resources, expertise, and stimulate collaboration within the science policy network. (3) Create opportunities for early career scientists to learn essential skills to inform and create better public policy. (4) Prepare for professional experiences and careers in science policy via professional training opportunities and by active participation in science policy advocacy on critical societal issues.
