The Lavender and Women and Gender Studies Cording Ceremony is a space to celebrate LGBTQ+ students and their allies as well as the graduates of the Women and Gender Studies program (WGST minor, LGBTQ Studies minor, majors, MAIS, and Certificate graduate students). All graduating students will receive honor cords to wear as part of their graduation regalia during University Commencement and Degree Celebrations.

Each graduate will receive cords and tassels that they are welcome to use as part of their graduation regalia at departmental, college, and university commencement ceremonies. The event is open to all George Mason University students, including those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, allies, & those affiliated with Women and Gender Studies. Friends, partners, family, and chosen family are welcome to attend!

We will give out awards to students, faculty, and staff, including the Feminist Leadership Award, Outstanding Project Award, Rose Pascarell and Ric Chollar Professional Service Award, and the Dr. David Powers Corwin Scholarship and Teaching Award.

GRADUATES, please submit your information by March 31st to be included in the ceremony PowerPoint: https://forms.office.com/r/BTj8zGEkTu
