We design, build, test, and compete with fully solar-powered electric vehicles, which then we race in international competitions against universities from all around the globe.

Patriot Motorsports, known as PatMo, seeks to provide the Mason community with an opportunity to develop engineering expertise by applying concepts learned inside the classroom in the hands-on setting of the rigorous international Formula SAE competition. The interdisciplinary nature of designing, modeling, and fabricating a formula-style vehicle from scratch, managing sponsorships and donations, and leading small, mission-focused teams is a unique chance to best mimic an industry-level project which demands cohesive teamwork from members with various backgrounds.

The purpose of this organization shall be to promote professionalism, education, and involvement amongst student members and to participate in the annual Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) competition, hosted by RoboNation.

We hope to bring together students at Mason with an interest in unmanned aerial systems/vehicles (UAS or UAVs), also referred to as 'drones' or 'radio controlled aircraft' to educate them about the hobby and form a community of enthusiasts. We plan to host events where members can share, discuss, and fly their personal UAV projects in a recreational environment.

Members enrolled in mechanical engineering capstones (ME443/444) may be given an opportunity by the Executive Board to join the SUAS capstone team and participate in the annual design challenge for course credit.
