The Student Subunit of the American Fisheries Society at George Mason (GMAFS) aims to provide a forum for discussion and resolution of aquatic resource issues for students at George Mason. The American Fisheries Society (AFS) overall mission is to improve the conservation and sustainability of fishery resources and aquatic ecosystems by advancing fisheries and aquatic science and promoting the development of fisheries professionals.
