The purpose of this club is to help students at George Mason University be more aware of and develop skills to shape the development and use of transformative and frontier technologies in a manner that is safe and societally productive. The club will accomplish this mission through regular discussions on relevant topics in the field, holding fellowships and workshops to develop skills among its members, and by hosting speakers that have insight on relevant topics.
Opportunity to engage in discussions and workshops on shaping important technological developments. Opportunity to work with others on projects to engage with new ideas in transformational technological development and regulation. Access and support in seeking external opportunities such as fellowships, internships, and research positions. Develop skills in understanding the threats posed by certain transformational technologies and how they might be addressed.
