About Us
The mission of the Libyan Club at George Mason University is to challenge and correct limited, conflict-centered narratives about Libya by promoting accurate, nuanced, and human-centered representations of the country and its people. The organization seeks to educate the campus community about Libya’s history, cultures, and lived experiences, amplify Libyan voices, foster cross-cultural understanding, and create a space where Libyan identity is represented with dignity, authenticity, and complexity through cultural, educational, and community-based programming.
