About Us

Mason Mappers is a special interest group on campus that focuses on humanitarian mapping through the use of OpenStreetMap to assist organizations such as the Red Cross or the Peace Corps after natural disasters in areas that need updated maps. We host map-a-thons each semester to get as many people as possible to contribute to these causes. We are also involved with Fairfax County and other groups on campus to collaborative on projects and events. As a group, we hope to foster a geo-community that values knowledge, volunteering, and collaboration.
