From: Muslim Students' Association Date: April 17, 2022 Subject: MSA Newsletter: Vote for Next Year's Board!
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu!
The time is finally here! Elections for your GMU MSA Board for the year 2022-23 are officially open. Please click here to vote for the people you think will have a positive impact in the community inshaAllah. Voting closes tomorrow, Monday, April 18th, at 11:59 pm, so be sure to vote ASAP to make your voice heard.
Again, as we embark on the election process, we'd like to remind everyone (and ourselves) to renew our intentions and think carefully about the decisions we make as we run or vote for positions on board. Remember that serving your community in this capacity is a great responsibility, and it is nothing like participating in a high school MSA. Think carefully before running or voting in elections inshaAllah. May Allah SWT purify our intentions and grant us the outcome that is best for ourselves and our community. Ameen.
We are continuing to hold our in-person events, such as discussions/halaqas, socials, and Jumuah (Friday) Prayers. However, as we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we will be following all GMU Health and Safety Guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community. All attendees must:
RSVP for the event in Mason360
Complete and show a Green Mason COVID Health Check at the door
Be vaccinated and wear a mask (if you have an approved exemption, please bring official documentation from Student Health Services to the event)
Let's all do our part to keep each other safe and healthy, inshaAllah.
Ramadan Mubarak!
Break your fast with us during this blessed month on Mondays through Thursdays with free dates and water. We're super excited to welcome Shaykh Huzaifa Nadeem each day to provide impactful Islamic reminders.
Additionally, we plan to have Ramadan iftars with full meals on select dates throughout the month. Stay tuned for more details on each iftar (fyi, the next one's tomorrow!)
Remember to register for each event and bring your COVID Health Check to display at the door. See you there, inshaAllah!
Join us for weekly Jumuah!
Please refer to the schedule for specific locations and timings. Any emergency schedule changes will be posted on our Instagram and sent out through Remind, so please be sure to join us on these platforms. On Friday, complete your COVID health check and arrive 15 minutes early so we can check everyone in. We hope to see you there, inshaAllah!
