Hi Patriots! 

We hope you had an amazing first week back! 

We are excited to share a few updates about what this semester of Patriots for Non-Profits (PFNP) will look like! 
 

Thinking about joining PFNP? 

You’re welcome to attend up to two meetings for free before being required to pay dues. This gives you time to meet members, learn more about what we do, and see if PFNP is the right fit for you. Dues help us host fundraisers and purchase materials for service events. If you have any concerns about dues, please feel free to reach out to us! 

 

We will be holding two meetings each month (biweekly), and every meeting will be an opportunity to earn service hours. 

One meeting each month will take place on-sight at Vecinos Unidos from 4:30-6. During these meetings, we will volunteer and help kids with homework and other educational activities. Since this will be held off-campus, Mia (our club President) is able to drive up to four people for each visit if you do not have your own transportation! If you are interested in going on-sight, you will need to fill out this Google Form. This form needs to be submitted two days before our scheduled visit, so please plan accordingly. 

Our second monthly meeting will be a regular, on-campus meeting, focused on our partnership with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue! Please see our Spring Calendar below. These dates and times are subject to change!

Meet our Partners - Vecinos Unidos (VU) and Homeward Trails Animal Rescue (HTAR)! Please try your best to be on time, so there are no interruptions during their presentations!

Tuesday, March 17th - 4:30-6:00 @ Vecinos Unidos

Thursday, April 2nd - 5:30-6:45 - Location TBD

Nonprofit Networking Event! Come meet local nonprofits and learn about how you can help make a difference in the community!

Spotlight Volunteer Opportunities

 

The Brain Foundation - Affordable housing for adults with serious brain diseases

  • Bookkeeper

    • Dates/Time Commitment: Start ASAP, weekly, flexible, long term commitment.  Or temporary as we look for a long-term.  

    • Location: Would be at-home work.

    • Background Check Required?: Probably need a back-ground check but may not be necessary, depending on the interview. 

    • Minimum Age / Requirements: Must have a good understanding of keeping records. Quick Books is currently used. 

    • Service Hours Provided?: Yes

    • Notes: Possible paid position! 

 

True Ground Housing Partners - We provide beautiful, stable, affordable homes and communities so people can thrive.

    • Location: Arlington, VA

    • Role Description: Help 11th and 12th graders navigate everything college! Each meeting will be based on a different college topic.
