Do you have talent(s)? CSA needs you!
CSA is in the process of planning another Lime Night for the Mason community! Lime Night will be a celebration of talentry across the islands and globe. If you are intersted in performing or know someone who might be, please fill out this form so we can get in contact with you!
The event will not be held until October but the earlier we have your information, the better! We are looking for, but not exclusive to:
dancers
musicians
poets
artists
The deadline to apply to perform and audition for Lime Night is September 16th but slots will fill up on a rolling basis so apply early!
CSA Ambassador Program
We are happy to introduce the Caribbean Student Association's Ambassador Program! A CSA Ambassador serves as a liaison between the E-board and the Mason community. The main responsiblity will be promoting CSA events and gathering attendees for CSA events. Additionally, Ambassadors will be invited to join E-board meetings and E-board dinners, hang-outs, etc.
Ambassadors who bring in the most people for our large events will get a prize valued at $100 at the end of the semester for their recruitment efforts!
CSA is thinking BIG this year and in order to make our events the best they can be, membership dues are essential! It is only $10 for the entire year and provides these benefits:
all of CSA's large events at Mason are free
prioritized influence over CSA meetings
funds food and drink for weekly meetings

Sept. 6: Dominoes & Domino's
This upcoming Tuesday, CSA will host this classic event! We will put on some island music, lay out the dominoes, and serve up pizza during our time together. If you do not know how to play Dominoes, don't fret! We got you with the instructions - just bring your competitve side to the table and you'll do fine. Look out for an Instagram story from us asking what kind of pizza we should order!
Have you wondered how your Caribbean identity fits into the Mason community? We have too. Let's talk about it! Join us to discuss what it means to be Caribbean at Mason or more generally, the NOVA area. We will ask y'all on our Instagram (@gmu_csa) to give us your questions to share. Come prepared to be transparent with your fellow CSA members and know that our community is a safe space.
On Sept. 24th in Presidents Park, CSA and PCL (Premier Cricket League) will be hosting our Fall Fête & Field Day! We will have free entry for everyone as well as free activities such as face painting, basketball, volleyball, cricket, colored powder, and more! We can't forget free snacks and drinks, too with a Caribbean influence in some of the options.
We encourage atendees to bring a picnic blanket to sit on as they enjoy music and vibes provided by DJ Erthtone (@erthonearth on IG)!
This event is not yet available on Mason360 but all details and updates will be shared with you as they become more available. Instagram (@gmu_csa) is the best way to stay in the loop. We can't wait to see everyone there! ƒÆø

Sept. 13: Study & Soca
We know some of y'all are already thinking about midterms... so we have an event for you! Come out to spend time in your books but also enjoy yourself and talk with some other CSA members. If you need advice or encouragement for your classes, please let us know and we can help! For this event, we encourage you to bring your favorite study snacks so you can be as comfortable as possible.
We invite CSA members to join us at University Mall Theatres to watch a scary movie together to kick off spooky season. Soon, we will display the movie options on IG and ask which is the favorite. We intend on walking with attendees to the theatre but if you prefer another method of travel, please feel free to use it.
We will not be providing tickets or buying concessions as an org but Student Involvement does offers free movie tickets.
GMU's CSA and Cloud9 DMV (@cloudninedmv on IG) along with other local universities' Caribbean Student organizations are collaborating to bring you a J'ouvert like never seen before called College Collision J'ouvert!!! Come out if you can this Labor Day Weekend to rep ya flag, enjoy Caribbean food trucks, paint and powder, face paint, and music from multiple DJs.
