Subject: MSA Newsletter: Get Ready for Night of Light!

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu!

We hope this newsletter finds you in the best of health, inshaAllah. On behalf of the entire MSA board, we'd like to say a HUGE thank you for attending our Charity Week events and donating to benefit orphans and needy children. Alhamdulillah, with your help, we've raised over 1900 dollars! May Allah (SWT) bless and reward all those who donated in this life and the next.

Don't miss out on this opportunity for sadaqah. There's still time to donate! We're continuing to accept donations until November 3rd. Help us reach our goal of 2500 dollars by donating via Charity Week's fundraising platform here. Additionally, check out charityweek.com/projects for more info on Islamic Relief's projects, and vote for which project you believe the funding should support.

Read on for information on our biggest educational event of the semester, registration links for upcoming halaqahs, and information on how to keep in touch with us.

We are continuing to hold our in-person events, such as discussions/halaqas, socials, and Jumuah (Friday) Prayers. However, as we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we will be following all GMU Health and Safety Guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community. All attendees must:

  • RSVP for the event in Mason360
  • Complete and show a Green Mason COVID Health Check at the door
  • Be vaccinated and wear a mask (if you have an approved exemption, please bring official documentation from Student Health Services to the event)
Let's all do our part to keep each other safe and healthy, inshaAllah.

Join us at Night of Light!

It's the biggest educational event of the semester! Join us in Dewberry Hall North this Thursday for a cozy and relaxing night of Qur'an recitation and tafseer of Surah Al-Furqan. We are pleased to host seven wonderful speakers who will guide us through the recitation of this beautiful surah and help us understand all of the lessons and takeaways within it. Snacks will be provided. Stay tuned on our IG for the RSVP link as it becomes available, and remember to bring your COVID health check to show at the door. We can't wait to see you there, inshaAllah!
