We hope your semester has been filled with joy, success, and fulfillment. Thank you for supporting our success thus far. This MSA is nothing without amazing members like you! As we head into midterm season, we ask Allah SWT to increase us in knowledge and wisdom, and we ask that He places barakah in our time and academic endeavors (Say Ameen!).

We hope this newsletter finds you in the best of health, inshaAllah. Read on for information on our highly requested marriage event (it's tomorrow!), a schedule of events for Islam Awareness Week, our weekly Jumuah schedule, our Living in the West halaqah series, community events, and ways to keep up with us.

Don't forget- this semester, we're endeavoring to learn a du'a together every single week. Remember to check out or Instagram stories and highlights for each week's du'a. You can also reach out to us for help practicing and memorizing each remembrance. Let's do our part to help each other increase in knowledge and khair :)

We are continuing to hold our in-person events, such as discussions/halaqas, socials, and Jumuah (Friday) Prayers. However, as we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we will be following all GMU Health and Safety Guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community. All attendees must:

Complete and show a Green Mason COVID Health Check at the door
Be vaccinated and wear a mask (if you have an approved exemption, please bring official documentation from Student Health Services to the event)

It's Half Your Deen: Get Ready for Tomorrow's Marriage Event!

Join us for an incredibly educational and informative experience on a highly requested topic! How can we prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually to unite with another person? How can we approach marriage the right way? How can we build the foundations for a strong, lasting relationship according to the sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh)?
Dr Amaarah DeCuir and Ustadh Haris Qudsi will guide us through each of these questions and more. Plus, we'll have an anonymous Q & A session at the end to answer any and all questions in a safe, comfortable environment. With our very own chaplain, Ustadh Mobeen Vaid, PLUS appearances by Imam Kebba Salah. Come out for a series of talks that will allow us to discuss the intricacies and obstacles of living and breathing our faith in a Western society.
