A B O U T A Z ├Ü C A R

The mission of Az├║car, Latin Dance Club is to create a safe and inclusive Latin dance community at GMU by providing members with introductory lessons and social events. We strive to create a safe space for all members of the George Mason University community to join and learn about various Latin dances. We also serve as a collaboration between the D.C Metro area (VA, MD, and D.C) and the Mason Latin dance communities, so members may discover and explore more dance opportunities.

Exclusive Resources

Dance lessons are free and open to all levels and are hosted at the George Mason University Fairfax campus. No partner or experience required.

Connnections

We serve as a liaison between the D.C Metro area and the Mason Latin dance communities, so members may discover more dance opportunities.

Dances We Offer:

CUBAN CASINO: Cuban Casino is a partner dance known for its effortless flow and energy. Casino traces its origin as a partner dance from Cuban Son, Cha Cha Cha, Danzón and Guaracha!

BACHATA: A Dominican dance with infectious music and welcoming basics! As the music has evolved, traditional, modern, and sensual dance are three of the most popular styles.

BRAZILIAN ZOUK: An all-encompassing dance that emphasizes connection and musicality. It can be danced to almost any genre, including R&B, hip-hop, reggaeton, and ballads/boleros!

SALSA RUEDA: Rueda is an energetic structure incorporating Miami Salsa and Cuban Casino! Based on a community mentality, it's a perfect introduction to salsa while having a lot of fun and meeting everyone!
