About Us

Our mission is to unite the GMU community in the fight against cancer by advancing the mission of the American Cancer Society (ACS). We engage students, faculty, staff, and local community volunteers through cancer awareness and education, fundraising, advocacy, research, patient and caregiver support, and volunteer service. Through ACS-approved activities, resources, and programs, we aim to promote cancer prevention, early detection, research and discovery, access to healthcare, and meaningful support for anyone affected by cancer.

Members Benefits

Joining our chapter offers George Mason University students valuable volunteer and leadership experiences that translate directly into essential real-world skills such as teamwork, communication, and hands-on event planning, which will benefit members in their future education and careers. Furthermore, members gain exclusive access to a nationwide network of chapters, students, cancer researchers, and national American Cancer Society staff for shared ideas, training, and resources. Beyond personal growth and earning documented volunteer hours, members have the opportunity to foster deep campus spirit and unity by bringing together students of diverse backgrounds to demonstrate George Mason's collective commitment to philanthropy
