Rocket League Fall 2022 Tryout Information

Dates and Time
Sign-up Deadline: Friday, December 16 @ 11:59 PM EST
Tryout Dates: Saturday, December 17th and Sunday, December 18th from 6 - 8 PM EST
Tryouts will be conducted in the GMU Esports Discord server

Requirements/Recommended MMR Requirements
YOU MUST BE A FULL TIME STUDENT AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITYT! This requires you to take a minimum of 12 credits, if you are not taking 12 credits you will not be accepted.
At the time of tryouts, one must be at least Champion 3 or 1300 MMR in ranked standard to participate
Must be available twice a week for scheduled practices
Must be able to communicate effectively in voice chat
Must be available for CRL/NACE/MAEC Leagues
Must follow the Roles and Responsibilities document for players
Must be IN CALL and communicating 30 minutes before official matches
Schedule conflicts are your responsibility to reschedule matches with your teammates.
Repeated tardiness / lack of communication about reschedules (3 minor/1 major) will lead to benching.

Join the GMU Esports group on Mason360 and register for the event here (this webpage)

Team & Competition Information
The main competitions the Rocket League teams will compete in are Collegiate Rocket League, MAEC, and NACE Star League Spring 2023.
Rank estimates for each team:
Team A (George Mason Patriots): Premier or “Varsity” competitive team, comprised of SSL+ MMR players and are expected to qualify for all major events
Team B (GMU Academy): Non-premier or “Junior Varsity” competitive team, comprised of regularly 1650+ MMR players
Team C (GMU Gold): Developmental competitive team, comprised of GC1-GC2 (1450-1600 MMR)
Team D (GMU Green): Will determine if a 4th team is necessary after tryouts.
Tryout Process
Matches will be conducted in-house vs other tryout applicants.
Minimum of three games played, then an in-depth replay review with the players participating in the tryout (after).
Team Manager and (Optional) Advisory Board Member will congregate privately and share their analyzations and recommendations
Teams will be posted at the very latest two days after the last tryout.
