Whether you're planning your organization's first event or looking to improve your event planning process, this session will provide the fundamentals for creating successful Registered Student Organization (RSO) events at George Mason University. We'll explore the event planning process from start to finish, including where to find essential resources on the RSO HUB, effective strategies for advertising your event, and the campus offices and partners that can help bring your ideas to life.

We'll wrap up with an interactive discussion where participants can share ideas, ask questions, and learn from the many different types of events hosted by student organizations.

When you register, you'll also have the opportunity to submit topics or questions you'd like to see covered, helping tailor the session to your organization's needs.

Associate Director of Registered Student Organization Experience

Student involvement, George Mason University

Ayleen Leonhardt is the Associate Director for Registered Student Organization Experiences at George Mason University, where she has happily worked since 2017. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, she is passionate about student leadership, campus engagement, and creating opportunities for students to build meaningful communities. Ayleen's career in student affairs began as a student employee and includes 16 years living and working in university residence halls as a student, Resident Assistant, and Hall Director, giving her a unique perspective on the student experience.Outside of work, Ayleen is the proud mom of two boys and enjoys tabletop gaming, playing games on Steam, and spending many evenings connecting with friends on Discord.
