The purpose of this organization is to promote lung cancer screening for people who are at high risk of developing lung cancer. Members will be given the opportunity to educate local community members and guide high risk individuals toward available lung cancer screening treatments.

The Food Recovery Network at George Mason University (FRN GMU) seeks to recover leftover food from George Mason University’s dining halls, catering events, and food service venues and transport this surplus food safely to feed community members in need. The organization relies on student volunteers to help transport the food, increasing their awareness of issues of food waste and hunger. We also seek to raise awareness on campus about food waste, with the goal of reducing food waste as much as possible and promoting sustainability. Finally, we seek to recover food without inconveniencing or disturbing the proceedings of George Mason University’s dining services employees.

Girl Up at George Mason University is a non-religious, non-political organization; our mission is to empower individuals on George Mason University's campus to become involved through education, advocacy, public service, and fundraising to allow young girls around the world to reach their full potential. As a campaign of the UN Foundation, fundraising will support Girl Up and UN Foundation programs that directly contribute to the advancement of girls' rights, health, and education in developing countries. The mission of Global Action In Nursing (GAIN) at George Mason University is to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world health challenges. We exist to empower students to gain a broader perspective on health disparities, take tangible action through ethical service, and advance the role of nursing leadership in an interconnected world.

No Fees: No dues, fees, or any cost will be bestowed on any member or attendee of GAIN and GAIN events. There is no financial barrier to participate or be a member of GAIN, as GAIN values your time, participation, and status.

Clinical Skills: Access to exclusive "Outbreak Simulations" and field medicine workshops, kit building, collaboration with GAIN @ UCSF on events, workshops, etc. Enjoy guest speakers such as board-certified nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other allied healthcare members as well as health IT, tech, and other interrelated fields. Practice learning, hearing, and evaluating different aspects of health within the bounds allowed by GMU and Federal/State Law.

Resume Booster: Gain literacy in Bioethics, Social Determinants of Health, Health Tech, Medical Geography, and more. GAIN is inclusive to all people, and we will hold events that cater to many fields as nursing is interrelated to every field. Participate in events and gain skills and endorsements from real practitioners.

Network: Connect with guest speakers from Travel Nursing agencies and Humanitarian Aid organizations. Applied engineering skills aren't taught early enough in the STEM curriculum anywhere, as many of the skills engineers need are learned through projects. Through the MID Team, be we plan to bring applied engineering skills in Arduino, CAD, C++ (Arduino IDE), and innovation to the College of Engineering and Computing at George Mason University, with an emphasis on medical device R&D.

To provide a safe space for the healing of sexual & domestic violence victims. We are here to rewrite the story given to victims of SA & DA. As victims, we are told we are survivors but here at Medusa, we believe we can do more than survive in life. We can thrive.

Medusa also believes in education to instill prevention. Awareness has been the main focus of sexual assault and domestic abuse advocacy. But we understand that awareness is only the first step, we know to create a difference and stop violence we must educate as well. Join us as an ally, victim, secondary victim, or person who wants to learn more. Let's stop the violence.

The Multicultural Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), formerly the Minority Association of Premedical Students, is an organization, encourages and prepares students to become competitive applicants for medical school or other health field programs. This organization is committed to promoting diversity and enhancing the recruitment of culturally diverse students in the healthcare field. Any student who believes in the MAPS mission is welcome. MAPS was originally founded at GMU in the Fall of 2012 and has just recently been re-established starting Fall of 2026. As an organization we have gathered and motivated students interested in medicine to pursue their desired professions. MAPS encourages students to network and seek experiences necessary to succeed in the healthcare field. In addition to our monthly meetings, we have speakers, resume clinics, and the opportunity to attend health conferences around the DC Area and nationwide.
