The Food Recovery Network at George Mason University (FRN GMU) seeks to recover leftover food from George Mason University’s dining halls, catering events, and food service venues and transport this surplus food safely to feed community members in need. The organization relies on student volunteers to help transport the food, increasing their awareness of issues of food waste and hunger. We also seek to raise awareness on campus about food waste, with the goal of reducing food waste as much as possible and promoting sustainability. Finally, we seek to recover food without inconveniencing or disturbing the proceedings of George Mason University’s dining services employees.

Girl Up at George Mason University is a non-religious, non-political organization; our mission is to empower individuals on George Mason University's campus to become involved through education, advocacy, public service, and fundraising to allow young girls around the world to reach their full potential. As a campaign of the UN Foundation, fundraising will support Girl Up and UN Foundation programs that directly contribute to the advancement of girls' rights, health, and education in developing countries. To provide a safe space for the healing of sexual & domestic violence victims. We are here to rewrite the story given to victims of SA & DA. As victims, we are told we are survivors but here at Medusa, we believe we can do more than survive in life. We can thrive.

Medusa also believes in education to instill prevention. Awareness has been the main focus of sexual assault and domestic abuse advocacy. But we understand that awareness is only the first step, we know to create a difference and stop violence we must educate as well. The Multicultural Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), formerly the Minority Association of Premedical Students, is an organization, encourages and prepares students to become competitive applicants for medical school or other health field programs. MAPS was originally founded at GMU in the Fall of 2012 and has just recently been re-established starting Fall of 2015. As an organization we have gathered and motivated students interested in medicine to pursue their desired professions. MAPS encourages students to network and seek experiences necessary to succeed in the healthcare field. In addition to our monthly meetings, we have speakers, resume clinics, and the opportunity to attend health conferences around the DC Area and nationwide.
