First Generation Women in Medicine (FGWM), a supportive community for students who are the first in their families to pursue careers in medicine. We aim to empower, mentor, and advocate for first-generation women by providing the resources, networking opportunities, and professional guidance necessary to successfully navigate the medical school application process and excel in medical careers.
Members receive access to tailored volunteering, mentorship, and academic assistance across pre-health tracks, including medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and physician assistant studies. Benefits include interdisciplinary mentorship, relevant volunteering opportunities, track-specific resources, timeline checklists, mock interviews, application strategy sessions, collaborative skill-building, and a supportive peer network.
