About Us

Girl Up at George Mason University is a non-religious, non-political organization; our mission is to empower individuals on George Mason University's campus to become involved through education, advocacy, public service, and fundraising to allow young girls around the world to reach their full potential. We want to directly make an impact with the help of our community to raise awareness, combat issues, and implement solutions to make life better for all females. As a campaign of the UN Foundation, fundraising will support Girl Up and UN Foundation programs that directly contribute to the advancement of girls' rights, health, and education in developing countries. All activities of this club support the five core pillars of Girl Up: education, health, freedom from violence, leadership, and the right to be formally counted.
