Join the Movement: In the footsteps of a civil rights legacy, GirlTrek is a national health movement that activates thousands of Black women to be change makers in their lives and communities — through walking. Join GirlTrek representative jewel bush to discuss the challenges to BIPOC physical health and the great potential for hope and healing.

Come join us for salsa and bachata lessons with Azucar, and let's use movement as an act of resistance towards healing. Learn new dance moves and make new friends in this social event, happy dancing!

BIPOC well-being is deeply affected by racial trauma, experienced both personally and vicariously. Join us in remembering Ahmaud Arbery one year later by taking a meditative walk with Lewis Forrest and Brandi Blake. This podcast-style audio will be released on BurnAlong at 8am on Feb. 23 and offers a guided meditative walk to help you center your well-being in times of trauma.

Love Mila Brand uses waist beads to promote self-confidence, self-love, and embracing your body. Join Love Mila Brand Founder and CEO, Jamila Jonhson, to discuss body positivity, the challenges of societal body standards, and how to embrace self-love, inner affirmation, and unbreakable confidence.

Join Graduate Student Life, the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being, and Student Engagement for Racial Justice on Monday, Feb. 22 at 2pm for a radical self-care event focused on the unique needs of graduate students who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. This event will provide a safe space to reflect on your well-being and self-care needs as a graduate BIPOC, and will provide a space to check in with your body and participate in a guided meditation led by Jennifer Crewalk. This event is part of the Physical Well-Being for BIPOC Bodies series.
Jennifer Crewalk has been a practicing yoga and meditation facilitator for over 15 years. Jenn strives to lift up BIPOC communities through decolonized somatic practices that generate renewed energy to survive and thrive. Jenn is completing her Ph.D. this summer at George Mason University and currently works for the Center for Multicultural Equity and Access at Georgetown University. Jenn is a long time activist, ally and advocate for undocumented students and families.
