Agenda
Upcoming Events
8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Join Graduate Student Life and Outdoor Adventures on Sunday, March 30th at 8:30am for our first adventure of 2025! This trip combines riding bikes with a tour of the monuments. This is a beginner-friendly trip, so as long as you can ride a bike, you have the skill to join us! This casual trip will last about 2-3 hours. Bikes and helmets will be provided by Outdoor Adventures. We will meet at the Skyline Recreation Center on the Fairfax campus to leave for the tour. Please wear clothes that you can comfortably cycle in and that are appropriate for the weather. Be sure to bring your mask, ID, snacks, and water - we will be traveling by bike, so the fewer things you bring, the better!
Due to limited capacity and expected demand, we ask that you visit us in-person at the Johnson Center to register for the event if you are an in-person student. Graduate Student Life will be at the JC on March 17th through 20th from 11:30am-2:30pm to register for the event. If you are an online student, you can register via email at gradlife@gmu.edu during that same time frame. If demand exceeds the number of spots we have, you will be entered into a lottery. You will be notified if you are selected from the lottery. Each student can only reserve ONE TICKET; trips are not open to guests and tickets should be reserved by each student wishing to attend. Tickets are non-transferable. Students' ID will be verified and Graduate Student Life will be checking to see that each student is currently enrolled in a graduate program and taking classes this term at Mason.
Cancellation and Waitlist Policy: To accommodate as many interested Mason graduate students as possible, a waitlist will begin once a trip fills. If a registered student cancels their registration by 5:00pm on the Wednesday before the event, their space will be offered to the next student(s) on the waitlist.
Any students canceling their registration with less than 72 hours notice will not be eligible to participate in future Graduate Outdoor Adventure trips during the 2024-25 year.
Registration closes March 25 at 5pm. There are limited spaces on this trip.
If you have any questions, please contact Austin Housley Fabritius at afabriti@gmu.edu.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Join us for a guided meditation with therapy dogs & stay after to connect with your community! Graduate school can be stressful and isolating. Counseling and Psychological Services in partnership with Graduate Student Life presents Canine Unwind: Relax, Connect, Vibe. Join us for a time to unwind and link-up with puppies and friends! Snacks will be provided on Tuesday.
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Come join Graduate Student Life and SPARK (Scholars Promoting Access, Representation, and Knowledge) on April 2nd at George's for Mindful Mosaic: A Graduate Gathering. Navigating academia as a minoritized graduate student can feel overwhelming, and SPARK provides a safe and welcoming space for minoritized graduate students and their lived experiences. To start the event, we will participate in a healing music performance led by the CVPA to promote inclusion, healing, and community. Then individuals can create their own art piece to take home that describes, empowers, and reflects their identities as we build community. Art supplies, snacks, and music will be provided; you provide your authentic self.
