Hello RSO Presidents,
What a fantastic year it has been! As the year begins to wrap up, we want to help make sure your organization is ready for
2026–2027 re-registration, which begins in April. Preparing now will help your group stay active and avoid delays in the process.
Here are a few things to start thinking about with your team:
Executive Board Planning
- Have you created your election timeline?
- The incoming 2026-2027 President is required to submit the re-registration.
- Did you know you can run elections directly in Mason360?
- Elections must be completed before a re-registration is submitted.
- Make sure the election ends with the required number of officers for your RSO tier when you re-register.
Advisor Confirmation (Tier 2 Groups)
- Confirm your advisor is listed in Mason360 and ready to approve their role during re-registration.
- Continue communicating with your advisor about RSO updates as they are a great resource during officer transitions.
Constitution Review
- Review your constitution and update it if needed.
- If there are changes, you will need to indicate changes in the registration application.
Incoming Officers
- Be sure the officers listed in the 2026–2027 priority registration application are not graduating or leaving Mason in May.
- If they graduate or do not register for classes, they are no longer visible in Mason360 and your application could become invalid due to not meeting officer requirements.
Officer Transition Tips
- Encourage incoming officers to shadow outgoing officers for a smoother transition.
- Make sure important documents and records are organized and accessible.
- Document organizational passwords for continuity (ie social media accounts, bank accounts, etc.).
- Ensure any off-campus bank accounts are transferred to the correct incoming officers.
Planning Events for Next Year
- Work with the incoming officers to review planned 2026–2027 events and gatherings and begin reserving spaces early.
- During the summer, 25Live accounts are reset for new officers, but events remain in the system.
- We often see issues when past event coordinators do not review upcoming reservations with the new team.
We truly appreciate everything your RSOs do for the Mason community. Our team is here to help support you through officer transitions and re-registration. If you would like assistance, please feel free to schedule a meeting with us or email us anytime.
Thank you for all the work you do to make our community vibrant and engaging!
Sincerely,,
Ayleen Leonhardt
Assistant Director
