Explore Fairfax City-PREAMBLE EVENT

Fairfax City is a great place for Mason students to spend their time when they're off campus. Come and explore Fairfax City on August 21st from 5PM-9PM. Free Mason shuttles will be running from the Fairfax Campus to downtown Fairfax City. Enjoy some live music, participate in Pinpoint the Patriot scavenger hunt, play some yard games, and explore everything Fairfax City has to offer. Students will be receiving the "Find it in Fairfax City" booklet that offers a 10% discount to participating stores.

Fairfax City's Office of Economic Development in partnership with Mason's Office of Contemporary Student Services is proud to host Explore Fairfax City!

Explore Fairfax City is a component of Mason's 2021 Preamble and takes place on Saturday, August 21. As a component of the Preamble, Explore Fairfax City provides off-campus freshman, sophomore, and transfer students with activities to help you get to know your new hometown and experience all Old Town Fairfax City has to offer when you're not on campus.

Explore Fairfax City festivities will begin at 5:00 pm with FREE GMU shuttle service to Old Town Square, 10415 North Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. A number of activities are planned so you'll feel at home the moment you arrive! At Explore Fairfax City you will:

+Listen to live acoustic music,
+Play large picnic yard games,
+Discover Fairfax City with a scavenger hunt, "Pinpoint the +Patriot" and be eligible to win one of 100 gift cards given as prizes,
+Make friends with off-campus and transfer students, and
+Receive free giveaways!


There will also be opportunities to meet student organizations, get to know city offices, and much more!
