Join us on this special Earth Day 2024 tour! We'll depart at 12:30 p.m. from the Starbucks Northern Neck Patio at the Fairfax Campus.
We'll explore George Mason University's many sustainability features and learn about ongoing sustainability actions, including Bigbelly Solar waste stations, composting, plastics elimination efforts, the Piedmont Hall Rainwater Garden, the Innovation Food Forest, the University Arboretum, The Grove, and more!
The tour will travel approximately ~1 mile using sidewalks, concluding at The Grove (near the Sandy Creek Shuttle Stop). Attendees are encouraged to wear footwear and clothing with this in mind. Folks are also encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and to wear sun protective items (ex. sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, etc.) since we'll be outside for most of the tour.
The Wellness Walk: Steps to Plant Trees is a collaborative initiative between Mason Facilities, University Sustainability, Mason Dining, Mason Recreation, and Facilities Grounds.
