Celebrate Earth Month, wellness, and sustainability by journeying on a sustainability tour and engaging in numerous activities!
Explore University Sustainability's Greenhouse and Gardens Program with Doni Nolan, Greenhouse and Gardens Program Manager.
Participate in the entire tour or stop by at one or more of the activities!

- 12:30 p.m. – 12:50 p.m. at the Foragers’ Forest
- Join Doni at the Foragers' Forest site for a brief and casual tour to learn about this incredible project to restore native plantings while growing food for the community.

- Join Doni at the Innovation Food Forest site for a brief and casual tour to learn about this 10-year-old permaculture designed site that restores ecological health while growing food for the community.

- Join Doni at the Green Studio site for a brief and casual tour to learn about this School of Art Garden that provides a type of art studio for students to express their art through living materials and outdoor space.

- Join Doni at the Potomac Heights Garden for a brief tour and a seed sowing activity! Be ready to get your hands dirty, prep a garden bed and sow seeds to grow food for the community.

- Join Doni at the Presidents Park Greenhouse for a look inside to learn about growing food indoors without soil. We'll taste leafy greens, petting the fish, and picking through worms from our indoor worm composting bins. Bring home a free microgreen grow kit to start growing food in your own kitchen!

Attendees are encouraged to wear footwear and clothing appropriate for the activities they will participate in. Folks are also encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and to wear sun protective items (ex. sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, etc.) since most of the activities occur outdoors.
The Wellness Walk: Steps to Plant Trees is a collaborative initiative between Mason Facilities, University Sustainability, Mason Dining, Mason Recreation, and Facilities Grounds.
