Getting an autism diagnosis can be really overwhelming and challenging, especially as an adult and as a queer person. Services for adults can be hard to access and often have long waitlists. It can also be challenging to find affirming services.

GMU and Children's National Hospital are recruiting participants for a study on late diagnosis of autism. We're interested in understanding why some people are diagnosed with autism later in life. We also want to learn how someone’s identities and life experiences can influence their experience of autism. As part of the study, you can receive an autism evaluation by a trained clinical psychologist at Children's National at no cost to you. If a research diagnosis is received, you will get a report with your diagnosis information.

You may also learn about what the process of getting an autism diagnosis is like and about autism services in the area. Join us for a Q&A style panel to learn more.
