George Mason Fencing Club

Become part of our vibrant community.

About Us

The GMU Fencing Club offers a unique opportunity for beginning and experienced fencers alike to compete and better their fencing skills. We have over 35 members and provide equipment for all beginning fencers. We are a fun-loving club sport that accepts everyone regardless of experience! Our goal is for members to become more confident on and off the strip, make friends, and, above all else, have fun! We have between 6-7 competitions a semester, practice two days a week in the Recreation and Athletic Complex (RAC), and would love to see you there!

Members Benefits

Events & Activities

We hold practices 2 days a week in the RAC (T/R 6-8pm). We compete in 2-3 competitions per semester in the Baltimore-Washington Collegiate Fencing Conference (BWCFC). We also organize fundraising, community service, and team building activities throughout the year.

Exclusive Resources

We provide all necessary equipment (so you don't need to buy your own gear to start fencing with us!) We have coaches for each of our squads that regularly attend practices to lead more technical and skill based drills. Our coaches are dedicated to supporting and training each fencer in their individual style and helping them to meet their personal goals.

Fencing is a great way to connect with other GMU students by being a part of an uplifting team. We offer a unique opportunity to make new friends and then stab them :) It is our hope that all members improve their fencing skills and create lasting friendships with their fellow teammates and coaches.
