  • "Expected Head Count" - Same # as the RSO's Mason360 Event Submission Ticket #s
  • "Additional time" as needed: This allows your group Set-up and clean-Up time.
  • "Are you partnering with a Non-GMU Org?": Yes, if bringing in a Guest Speaker/Decorator/Vendor/DJ/Performer, etc.
  • "Faculty Advisor" if Tier 2: Include the Name, George Mason Email, and Department they work in.
  • "Organization Account Code": Find your Org Code
  • 25Live reference Code: example, 2024-XXXXXX. This code should be included in all email communications with our offices.

Student Funding Board (SFB)

SFB Catering Requests

  • The RSO Is responsible for the following:
    • Placing the order with the vendor
    • Coordinating the pick-up or delivery options with the vendor
    • Being the primary contact for vendor communication
    • Initiating the Payment Request for "Purchasing Card/(Pcard)" purchase for the use of the SFB funds
    • Attaching an invoice or quote from the vendor to the Payment Request. Do not send screenshots of catering.
  • SI Budget is responsible for the following:
    • Making the payment to the vendor

SFB Reminders

  • Inquires for SFB application updates go directly to the Student Funding Board (SFB) team and not to SI Budget. 
  • Once the RSO application approval has been received, YOU must initiate a Payment Request in Mason360 per the instructions sent in your Mason360 chat. 
  • Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) do NOT automatically receive funding of $3,000 (Tier 1) or $6,000 (Tier 2). RSOs are required to submit an SFB application and receive approval to have access to these funds. RSOs are not guaranteed these dollar amounts as it is an application process.

No SFB application processing will take place:

  • November 27th, 2024 - December 1st (Fall Break)
  • December 9th, 2024, – January 3rd, 2025 (Winter Break)

Free Speech Policies Town Hall

Thursday, November 7th at 5:00pm, Merten Hall 1202
This will be a panel of university administrators that are experts on the free speech policies on campus. The panel will include Assistant Vice President & Dean of Students, Juliet Blank-Godlove, Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Sharnnia Artis, Assistant Vice President for Risk, Safety, and Resilience, Dr. Dave Farris, and Assistant Vice President for Equity and Access Services, Dr. Tom Bluestein. They will deliver a presentation breaking down the updated University Policy 1201 and answer free speech related questions the student body has for them. Here is the Zoom link to attend virtually
