What happens when the place designed to solve conflict and problems becomes a source of conflict itself? Join the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution for Unpacking Conflict: Education, a conversation exploring the tensions, challenges, and opportunities for conflict within education.

Featuring panelists from Penn State University and George Mason University’s College of Education and Human Development, this installment will examine how conflict shapes classrooms, school boards, curriculum, teachers, and the broader educational experience. Panelists will explore issues ranging from differing perspectives and identities in the classroom to institutional decision-making, educational policy, and the role of educators in navigating disagreement.

Through personal experiences and professional perspectives, the conversation will ask: What purpose can conflict serve in an educational environment, and how do we face the conflicts currently facing our education systems?
