Our Focus

What are we & have we focused on?

We're always looking to create and provide opportunities that allow for enriching discussions, and more, on topics throughout education. We are also looking to grow our connection with select school districts through means of tutoring opportunities or collaborative activities. Having a focus on education reform is also where our attention is focused.

With our focus being on the aforementioned items, we have a few ways of achieving those goals:

  • Strong backing and support of our advisor, Carmen Rioux-Bailey
  • Support of the College of Education and Human Development and other student organizations
  • Detailed vision plan created by our Chapter President and Executive Board
  • Implementation of two committees (On-Campus Affairs and Fairfax & Beyond)
  • Initiating a signature event, Conversations, which is achieved throu Instagram lives every month with educators and leaders at Mason and beyond on select topics in the field of education
  • Monthly discussions on crucial topics in the field of education with general body members

Thus far, the Executive Board has ensured and achieved a focus on the following topics during the history of Educators Rising Collegiate. This list is still growing...
